Happy Halloween!

Our son Michael is very fond of Halloween, and has left us his Halloween decorations, the most notable of which is a pumpkin six feet in diameter that is powered by a small fan. We put it out each year to let the neighboorhod join us in celebrating Halloween, especially so that children will know we are open for business on Halloween night.

This year we got almost 30 “hits,” by which I mean the number of children who came to our door seeking treats.

Here are some pictures of Mike’s pumpkin:

Mike planted some pumpkin seeds at the base of our lawn a couple of years back, and it was fun to watch them grow. Once they are established, pumpkin vines grow at a rapid rate, at least several inches a day.
