New page – Trivia

I’ve just started a new static page, Trivia, that can be found in the list at the top of the page. It contains miscellaneous information such as search strings, and the occasional statistic.

For example, I filled in the first few entries based on the search strings that have led people to this blog. Among the more notable findings is that a Google search for “brain shields” now returns my humorous post with Google rank higher than the article that inspired it, all in just two days.

More surprisingly, my post an the recent death of a Professor in Art History at Williams College now has a stronger Google ranking than the New York Times obituary that served as the inspiration for the post!

Note that in earlier post I suggested WordPress would be more interesting if viewers could see all the information I can see, so long as they can’t edit or otherwise modify the blog content. Were that the case, then anyone could discover these exceptionally useless pieces of information on their own.
