I used to have a printed manual for vi, would have been 1983 or 1984 I’m thinking, from the Purdue bookstore. Would be a collector’s item at this point, for sure. I may even still have it somewhere. We were the first freshman class (started in 1981) that didn’t need to use teletypes; used pretty much nothing but BSD running on ADDS terminals. At one point, Purdue did get an IBM ‘mainframe’, but I was one of the only students who used it at first, and I only used it to run REXX programs (learned while co-oping at IBM).
